As per Mrs. Peek, MCPSS Superintendent, Senior pranking IS NOT ALLOWED ON ANY CAMPUS!!  Students who do so WILL NOT participate in commencement! Four students from Murphy High School will not be participating in their commencement due to a prank.



Baker High School Graduation Tradition:

Every year, students are allowed to show off their cords, medals, National Honor Society and other awards they have received throughout their senior year during Honors Day.  However, on graduation, per tradition, only National Honor Society cords are allowed as every student is elligible to membership into the National Honor Society.

The senior fee of $121 is due to Balfour as soon as possible.  This covers the purchase of a cap & gown, class day in May, the senior class signature t-shirt, and a few other senior events.

Balfour will be at Baker High School (cafeteria) on Monday, October 2nd from 5-7pm to answer any questions from parents and to collect senior fees.


Balfour will be in the Baker front lobby during the lunchwaves to collect the $121 senior fee on the following dates: To Be Announced

 Graduation for Baker High School Class of 2018 will be:

Thursday, May 17th at 10:00am 

The location will be at USA Mitchell Center

Tickets are NOT required for admittance to Graduation



Midyear Graduates will have to turn in their clearance forms to Mr. Nelson in room 230 by Friday, December 15th in order to be cleared for graduation.

Seniors graduating in May must turn in their clearance forms in to their homeroom teachers by Friday, December 15th.




 Graduation Week Schedule


May 7 Monday:         Last full day of instruction

May 8 Tuesday:        3rd and 4th block final exams (full day of school)

May 9 Wednesday:    1st and 2nd block final exams (full day of school)

May 10 Thursday:      Last official day for seniors (makeup exams and work)

May 11 Friday:

                      Honor's Day Practice (mandatory): 8am-12pm 

                      Cap & gown distribution: 12pm-1pm



May 14 Monday:

                      Honor's Day (mandatory): 9am (seniors report by 8:15)

                               Attire:  Boys - dark dress pants (black, navy blue)

                                                   dark dress shoes (no athletic shoes)

                                                   white shirt and tie

                                           Girls - white dress

                                                   white dress shoes (no flip flops)




May 15 Tuesday: 

                      Class Day (Bowling)(attendance optional): 9:00-11:00am


May 16 Wednesday: 

                      Senior Breakfast (optional): 8:30am

                                Attire:  Sunday dress (no jeans, shorts, or sneakers)

                                           If you are not dressed accordingly, you will be

                                           turned away at the door.  No refunds.

                      Graduation Practice (mandatory): 12-4pm

May 17 Thursday:

                      Graduation:  10:00am (seniors report by 7:20am)

                              Attire:  Boys - dark dress pants (black, navy blue)

                                                   dark dress shoes (no athletic shoes)

                                                   white shirt and tie


                                         Girls - white dress

                                                   white dress shoes (no flip flops)





Senior Cookout

March TBA from 4pm - 6pm

Fun, Food, and Friendship

Ticket/t-shirt are $15

t-shirt is your ticket into the cookout

tickets can be purchased in room 230 (Mr. Nelson)

last day to purchase tickets is TBA

no extra shirts will be ordered








2018 Senior Breakfast

Tickets will not go on sale until TBA.

Location:   University of South Alabama Student Center Ballroom

                  Across from the Mitchell Center


Price:         $18 per person – Payable in Ms. Medlin’s Room (263).  

                  During Hornet Block


Dress:        Sunday Dress  (no jeans, shorts, or sneakers)

                                        If you are not dressed accordingly, you will be

                                        turned away at the door.  No refunds.


 Deadline:   Money & Seating arrangement by TBA

                   Ticket sales will end before the deadline once 300 tickets have   

                   been sold.
