Graduation Information

 If you did not pay for your senior class fee, which includes a class of 2020 t-shirt, there will be a drive through service this Thursday, June 4th from 9am-11am at Baker.  Please do not come to Baker to pick up a shirt you have already picked up.  We have a list of paid/picked up.


 If you did not participate in graduation and would like to pick up your diploma, Baker will offer drive up service Monday, June 1st from 10am - 2pm.


If you did not pick up your graduation tickets, yard sign, or cap and gown, we will be set up for drive through service Tuesday, May 26th from 9am to 12pm at Baker High School.  This will be your last opportunity to pick up your tickets.


Baker High School will hold graduation at Ladd-Peebles stadium Wednesday, May 27.  Due to social distancing guidelines, Baker will have two graduations.  Seniors with the last names starting with the letters A through L will graduate at 1:30 PM in the afternoon.  Mandatory practice will be from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM.  Gates will be open to the public at 12:30 PM.  Seniors with the last names starting with the letter M through Z will graduate at 5:30 PM in the evening.  Mandatory practice will be from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM.  Gates will be open to the public at 4:30 PM. The top 10 seniors will attend the 1:30 PM graduation only, however, the valedictorian and salutatorian will attend both graduations as they will be giving their speeches.

Each senior will receive 5 tickets.  The tickets are specific to the graduation time and will have a special mark only seen under a special light.  Tickets cannot be altered or duplicated.  Those with altered or duplicated tickets will be turned away at the gate.  Seniors can pick up their tickets on Friday, May 22 at the designated times in front of Baker High School using a drive through method.  Seniors will not have to get out of their cars.  Seniors with the last names A-L can pick up tickets between 9 AM and 11 AM only.  Seniors with the last names M-Z can pick up tickets between 12 PM and 2 PM only.  If a senior cannot be at Baker at the designated time, he/she may send a parent.  The parent MUST be on the parent contact list with Baker High School.  Parents not on the contact list will not be able to pick up the seniors' tickets.  You must have proper ID in order to pick up the tickets.

Seniors must dress appropriately for graduation. Ladies do not have to wear a white dress with white dress shoes but still should be dressed "Sunday Best".  Dress sandals are acceptable but "flip flops" are not.  Gentlemen do not have to wear a tie but should wear a dress shirt, dark pants, and dark shoes (no sneakers).  Seniors dressed inappropriately will be turned away at the gate.  Seniors may not have a purse of any kind at graduation.  Graduation caps may not be decorated.  Decorated caps will be taken up and the senior will graduate without one.  Cell phones should be left at home or with parents.  The only honors cords that can be worn are the National Honor Society Cords.  No medals or any other adornments can be worn.

Masks must be worn at all times during the graduation.  Guests are responsible for bringing their own masks.  If you do not have a mask, you will be turned away at the gate and will not be allowed to attend graduation.  Seniors should arrive at Ladd-Peebles Stadium with a mask on. Seniors will be receiving a special mask once at the stadium from Baker High School that is labeled with the Class of 2020.

Guests must follow the rules of Ladd-Peebles Stadium which includes that all handbags to be clear so that security can check them appropriately.

If you still have not paid for your cap and gown, you will need to do so immediately at in order to participate in graduation.

The Baker High School Graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 27th at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile, Alabama.  Due to social distancing guidelines, there will be two ceremonies.  Specifics on the times will be announced next week as it becomes available.


Each senior will receive 5 tickets to the ceremony.  The tickets are specific to the time of the graduation and due to security marks, cannot be duplicated.  People with altered tickets will be turned away at the gates.


Guests are subject to the rules and guidelines of Ladd-Peebles Stadium.  This will include entry with clear handbags only.

Details on the times of the graduations and how to pick up tickets will be released early next week.





 Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, All senior activities are postponed at this time.  Please continue to read updates below:

  1. Balfour will be distributing cap and gowns next week, so if you have not paid your senior Balfour fee, please go to and pay so that your cap and gown will be ready for you. Information about the day and location for the pickup is as follows:
  • Seniors will be able to pick up their cap & gown Thursday, April 23rd.  They will be distributed at Surge Church, formerly Living Word Church, 2900 Dawes Road using a curbside pick-up process.  Distribution will begin at 10:00am and end at 4:00pm.  If you have not paid, you can do so online at .  Cost is $88.00.


 For those seniors who did not pick up their cap/gown on April 23, please do one of the following:

1. If you haven't paid, go to and make the payment.  You can pay an extra charge to have the cap/gown sent directly to your house.

2. If you paid but didn't pick up your cap/gown, you can call Balfour and make an appointment to pick it up at their office. 


For those seniors who have not picked up their senior class of 2020 t-shirt, we will have a drive thru day later in May (TBA) for you to pick it up.  Stay tuned. 






 Baker High School Graduation Tradition

Every year, students are allowed to show off their cords, medals, National Honor Society and other awards they have received throughout their senior year during Honors Day.  However, on graduation, per tradition, only National Honor Society cords are allowed as every student is eligible to membership into the National Honor Society. 


 As per MCPSS Central Office, Senior pranking IS NOT ALLOWED ON ANY CAMPUS!!  Students who do so WILL NOT participate in commencement!

A senior fee of $20 is paid directly to Baker High School.  The fee covers graduation expenses including class day in May, the senior class signature t-shirt, and a few other senior events.  See Mr. Nelson in room 230 to pay this fee.

A senior fee of $80 is paid directly to Balfour.  This covers the purchase of a cap & gown.

September 9:  Balfour will give a presentation to seniors during second Block

September 11:  5pm-7pm Parent night in the Baker cafeteria.

Graduation for Baker High School Class of 2020 will be:

Tickets are NOT required for admittance to Graduation

Midyear Graduates will have to turn in their clearance forms to Mr. Nelson in room 230 by Thursday December 19th in order to be cleared for graduation.

Seniors graduating in May must turn in their clearance forms in to their homeroom teachers by Thursday, December 19th.
