This summer, Ms. Poorman, our amazing theater instructor, trained at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London through a scholarship from the English Speaking Union of the United States (ESUUS). She worked with professional actors and directors to explore performance-based strategies for teaching Shakespeare—breaking down the Bard’s language and bringing scenes to life through scaffolding and chunking techniques.
Now she’s bringing that energy and expertise to our fall production of Romeo and Juliet!

A proud DHS alum from the Class of 1995 and a 4-year varsity athlete, Mr. Powell returns to Warrior Nation with over 23 years of experience in MCPSS. His journey includes roles as a health teacher, Varsity Basketball coach, and assistant principal — and now, he’s back to lead and inspire the next generation of Warriors!
