The Baker High School Dance Team, formally known as the Highsteppers, perform as part of the visual ensemble within the Pride of Baker Marching Band. The dance team also performs at pep rallies, community events, and in the Baker Dance Department Spring Showcase. In addition to football season, the BDT attends a UDA camp each summer, a week of choreography camp, and a week of band camp.
The team has competed at UDA Regionals for the past four years, bringing home two state championships in large varsity jazz (2017 & 2018), a second place finish in medium varsity jazz (2019), and a second place finish in large varsity hip hop (2020). The team competed in Dance Team Union's (DTU) regional competition in January 2020 where they placed 1st in Varsity Jazz, 3rd place in Varsity Hip Hop, and Regional Grand Champion for their Jazz routine.
In February 2019, for the first time in school history, the BDT competed at the Universal Dance Association's National Dance Team Championship in Orlando, FL. They competed in two categories: jazz and hip hop. They advanced to semi-finals in hip hop and finished 14th.
In February 2020, the team competed in the DTU National Championship in Orlando, FL placing 7th overall in Large Varsity Hip Hop.
